At the risk of being a rude guest, Baltimore will take the direct approach Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Ravens have a 232-pound running back, a 260-pound fullback and a pronounced proclivity. They run the football. They average 40 rushes a game. They don’t get cute. They get physical.

The Jaguars defense gets another difficult test Sunday in Denver.
Tied for 21st in the league in yardage allowed, the Jaguars will take on a Denver offense that is ranked second in the league in yardage gained.
The defense has had trouble closing the deal while losing three of its first five games.
In all five games, the opposing offense has scored on its final drive although the Jaguars offense pulled out two of the games.
“We just need to play better,” coach Jack Del Rio said. “It’s not like we have never shown the ability to, it’s just we have not come up big when we needed it, and we’ll keep working at it. The biggest thing that you have to do as a football team, as in life when things aren’t going your way, is keeping doing the right things, keep…

Albert Haynesworth’s value to the Tennessee Titans last year was evident.
When he went on the shelf with a hamstring strain in midseason, the Titans lost all three games he was out of the lineup. And though he was really never close to 100 percent when he returned, opposing offenses were still forced to account for him with double teams and game-planning.
Now, with the Titans at 5-0 entering this week’s bye, Haynesworth is on track for an even better season. Last year, Haynesworth had six sacks, a career high, and through five games this year already has five sacks.
How impressive is that total? In a category dominated by defensive ends and outside linebackers, Haynesworth, as a defensive tackle, has more sacks than all NFL defensive ends except for John Abraham…

It may have been the fact that the Texans were finally playing in Reliant Stadium. It may have been just the natural progression of an offense finally coming into its own. Or maybe the late change of Sage Rosenfels starting at quarterback provided an ignition.
Either way, the Texans played with a determination and demand for perfection against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
“I think there was a different sense of urgency out there with the team, period,” wide receiver Andre Johnson said. “Guys laid it all on the line. We were just determined that we were going to win. But we didn’t.”
They did dominate an Indianapolis Colts team for 56 minutes though. And the task this week is for Matt Schaub to return to quarterback and keep that same intensity going against the…

Keep getting better.
That is the Indianapolis Colts’ primary goal heading into Sunday’s home game with the Baltimore Ravens at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Indianapolis has gotten the 2008 season off to a rather sluggish 2-2 start, with both wins coming on the road. The Colts have battled back from early deficits in posting wins over Minnesota and Houston, but neither victory has come easy.
“Two-and-two is .500 football. That’s not where you want to be,” quarterback Peyton Manning said this week. “We break (each season) into quarters and that’s pretty average for the first quarter. The second quarter starts this week. We have a tremendous challenge with Baltimore and a tough schedule from here on out.
