With all the attention focused on a resurgent Ronnie Brown, Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington has been lost in the ‘Wildcat’ shuffle.
Sure, Brown has electrified comatose Dolphins fans by taking shotgun snaps from center and either running, handing off reverses to Ricky Williams or even throwing the ball, but the success of that trick formation shouldn’t take away from Pennington’s astonishing accuracy in the last two wins over the New England Patriots and San Diego Chargers.
Certainly, Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak is aware that the Dolphins’ base offense has been clicking largely in part because of Pennington, who has completed 39 of his last 49 passes in those two wins for a 79.6 percent completion rate.

For much of the day on defense, the Miami Dolphins played as if they could anticipate what was coming. On fourth-and-goal, they did. Miami guessed correctly to stuff LaDainian Tomlinson, and the goal-line stand capped a dominating performance by a defense that bore no resemblance to the unit humiliated only three weeks ago.
