Edwards’ right-hand man

It was moments before the third quarter of last Sunday’s game against the Rams. Through the first two quarters Trent Edwards had been aggressively blitzed, was sacked four times, had thrown an interception and managed a passer rating of just 43.5. But before taking the field for the third quarter third quarterback Gibran Hamdan offered some words.

Game Day Tipsheet: Week 5

Top 3 Individual Matchups 1. Jabari Greer vs. Larry Fitzgerald: Fitzgerald has a clear height advantage, but Greer has faced big receivers before and been successful. Case in point Greer faced Terrell Owens last season in Week 5 and held him to two catches for 25 yards. As an added bonus, if Boldin doesn’t play Buffalo can roll safety help over the top of Greer if they deem it necessary.

Bills bounced by Cards

Buffalo’s good fortune to start the season ran out on the third play from scrimmage Sunday and no matter what the Bills tried to do there was nothing that was going to get them out in front of the Cardinals as they dropped a 41-17 decision to Arizona for their first loss of the season.

Bills look to regroup in bye week

The 41-17 result Sunday at Arizona certainly wasn’t anything the Bills wanted to take with them into their bye week, or any other week for that matter. But the team is looking at the big picture with respect to the first five weeks of their season, and will try to improve their performance as they use the bye to prepare for the meat of their 2008 schedule.

Second Down: Week 4

Name that player Trent Edwards was the starting quarterback for Buffalo in their third consecutive win after trailing in the fourth quarter Sunday. It’s only the second time a Bills signal caller has won three straight games when facing fourth quarter deficits. Who is the only other Bills quarterback to post three straight wins after trailing in the fourth quarter?

Buffalo again came up big in the fourth quarter only this time it was their defense providing the points.
